• Keep them closer together for the stems to make them look clean and strong.
• For the leaf stitch:
After stitching the two base rows, bring the next row one step higher to form a beautiful, dimensional leaf shape.
• For the Looped Running Stitch (lavenders):
• Keep all loops equal in size for a neat look.
• Be very careful not to disturb the first layer of loops when stitching the second direction.
• For the whipped running stitch at the flower centers:
Work gently to avoid catching or damaging previous stitches.

🌟 Tips for Best Results
✨ Stem Stitch (Outline Stitch):
Keep the working thread on the same side while moving forward for smooth, even outlines. Avoid pulling too tight to prevent the line from curving unnaturally.
✨ Satin Stitch Leaves (Fishbone-like texture):
Since the leaf is divided into two halves, stitch each side in the opposite direction to form a natural center vein. Keep stitches close at the base and slightly wider toward the edges for a realistic shape.
✨ Lazy Daisy & Double Lazy Daisy:
Always leave a soft loop before anchoring.
Pull the final securing stitch gently to avoid flattening the petal.
✨ Russian Chain Stitch (modified):
Because three Lazy Daisy loops form the center, maintain even spacing and tension.
Do not over-tighten — the beauty comes from the soft raised texture.
✨ Fly Stitch Accents:
Use small, delicate fly stitches to fill empty spaces between petals.
A light neutral color adds brightness without overwhelming the flower.

💡 Tips for Best Results
✨ Rope Stitch:
To stitch the stem and leaves in one continuous motion, let your needle follow the natural curve of the leaf.
Keep stitches closer together on tighter curves and slightly wider on open curves — this creates a smooth, unified rope texture.
This effect comes with careful observation of the video and consistent practice.
✨ Portuguese Border Stitch:
Avoid pulling the wrapped strands too tightly.
They should stay relaxed so the braid-like texture remains soft, rounded, and beautifully raised.

✨ Stitching Process Overview
Step 1 – Running Stitch (Green 3011)
I begin with two clean rows of Running Stitch to form the base of the border line.
Step 2 – Stepped Running Stitch (Light Green 3013)
Next, I add a beautiful stepped layer on top, creating a gentle rhythm along the border.
Step 3 – Eskimo Laced Edging (Blue 794 & Pink 3806)
First, I work the Eskimo Laced Edging in blue, then repeat the same process in pink, stitching in opposite directions to create a lovely crossed (X-shape) effect.
Step 4 – Straight Stitch & Fly Stitch
To finish the design, I add a decorative row of Straight Stitch & Fly Stitch above the crossed area for extra elegance.
⸻
🌿 Helpful Tips
• Do not pull the thread too tightly in any stitch — this ensures the lace crossing stays smooth and clean.
• Follow the pattern precisely and evenly for the best border shape.
• Keep stitching distances consistent to maintain symmetry and neatness.

✨ Materials & Tools
• Fabric: Linen (Cream Color)
• Hoop: Nurge Square (Rectangular) Plastic Hoop – Size 2
• Stand: Nurge Embroidery Seat Stand 190-1
• Needle: Tapestry Needle Size 18
• Threads: DMC Cotton Embroidery Threads (6 strands throughout)
– Stem & Leaf: DMC 3012 (Dark Green)
– Base Circles (Running Stitch): DMC 3046 (Cream)
– Petal Layer 1: DMC 3341 (Orange)
– Petal Layer 2: DMC 351 (Dark Orange)
– Petal Layer 3: DMC 321 (Red)
– Outer Highlights: DMC 3046 (Cream – Straight Stitches)
⸻
🧵 Stitches Used
• Satin Stitch (stems & leaves)
• Running Stitch (three concentric circles for petal foundation)
• Eskimo Laced Edging Stitch (three colorful petal layers)
• Straight Stitch (outer petal highlights)
• Circle Eyelet Stitch (flower center)
⸻
💡 Embroidery Tips
• For shaping the satin stitch leaves, keep the needle insertions close together at the bottom, but place them slightly farther apart at the top to create a natural leaf form.
• For the running stitches, keep the stitches evenly spaced and do not pull the thread tightly. They should remain slightly loose so they can be easily used as the foundation for the next step, the Eskimo Laced Edging stitch.
• For the Eskimo Laced Edging stitch, avoid pulling the threads. Keeping them relaxed allows the stitch to form its beautiful, raised texture.
